Internet Set Up & Choosing Devices
Your Streaming Experience Recommendations

For the best streaming experience, we recommend an internet connection with a minimum speed of 100 Mbps—this is especially important if you plan to subscribe to one of the Video on Demand playlists. Using a high-quality router or mesh system connected to your modem, along with a reliable streaming device, will help ensure smooth playback. Whenever possible, we suggest connecting your streaming device directly to your internet via an Ethernet cable, if possible, as this provides the most stable connection. Please note that WiFi performance can vary, particularly during peak usage times.

Device Compatibility

The Sphere App can be installed on multiple devices without limitation. For televisions, if you use Fire TV, Apple TV, or Google TV, there is no need to purchase an additional streaming device. However, for other TV brands—including most smart TVs—a compatible streaming device is required. Please note that Roku devices are not supported. The Firestick 4K Max is the most popular option, while Nvidia Shield devices are considered the top choice for performance.

How many Simultaneous Streams will I need?
Determining Your Simultaneous Streams Requirements

To determine how many simultaneous streams your household requires, simply ask yourself: “How many devices will I use to watch the Sphere App at the same time?” This includes TVs, mobile devices, and PCs.

Examples:
  • If you have five TVs with the Sphere App installed, but never watch on more than two TVs simultaneously, you only need two simultaneous streams.
  • If you have three TVs and two phones with the app, but only ever watch on one device at a time, you only need one simultaneou stream.
  • Most people have 1 or 2 simultaneous streams
You can install the Sphere App on as many devices as you like at no extra charge. Your subscription cost is based on the package plan that fits your household’s simultaneous streaming needs. We recommend starting with a one-month term before committing to a longer plan, as changes cannot be made mid-term.

About Sphere App Playlists
The Sphere App comes preloaded with three different playlists: Sphere Live TV, Sphere V.O.D, and Sphere V.O.D+. Each playlist is a separate subscription, as each functions as its own app. For your convenience, all playlists are integrated within the Sphere App, allowing you to view and search across your subscriptions easily. You can also subscribe/add new playlists later without needing to download anything additional.
